Mobile Physiotherapy FAQs
YES! We offer Home Visiting Physiotherapy Services across the Sunshine Coast - see below FAQs
How Does Mobile Physiotherapy work?
Using mobile physiotherapists is simple - we come to you! Whether it be at your workplace, home, local gym, sporting field/club or pool, we will meet you there. We are equipped with all of the necessary equipment to perform our services, all you need to provide is yourself in some comfortable clothes that you are able to perform physical activity in.

What is involved in a Physio session?
Our friendly team will come to you and start by listening to your story and what’s been bothering you. We might ask a few more questions about your health, like if you have any other injuries or if you've seen other doctors or had tests like x-rays or MRIs. We just want to make sure we get the full picture.

Next, we’ll guide you through a physical exam to figure out where your symptoms are coming from and any areas that might need a little extra support. We’ll look at how your body moves, check for any weaknesses or tight spots, and assess joint stiffness.

In your first session, we’ll also provide hands-on treatment to help with any ongoing pain and improve your movement. We want to make sure you understand what’s causing your symptoms and how we’ll tackle them together so you can get back to feeling your best.

We’ll always share our treatment plan with you, so we’re on the same page working toward your goals.
Do I need anything for my first appointment?
Any information or reports that has been provided by your GP or any other health professional you have seen will be extremely helpful for us. Any reports provided for any imaging you have had we are able to access online if you do not have them on hand.

If you are covered under NDIS, a care plan (EPC), or Workcover, you will also need your referral from your GP or to organise a service agreement with us (NDIS only) - simply email any additional info through to info@surfedge.physio

What can you treat?
With SurfEdge Physiotherapy’s mobile service, we’re equipped to treat a wide range of issues, just like you’d find in a clinic, including musculoskeletal injuries! While there’s a lot we can address, if we think there’s someone better suited to help you, we’ll be upfront about it. We understand that we can’t cover every specialty.
Ultimately, our priority is your success, whether that’s through our services or by connecting you with other reliable health professionals for a second opinion.

How long are the sessions?
I firmly believe that taking the time for a thorough assessment is key to understanding your condition or injury, which makes treatment planning much easier. That’s why all initial consultations are one hour long, with the exception of DVA/EPC sessions due to claiming regulations.

For follow-up appointments, we typically schedule standard 30-minute sessions, unless your condition is more complex and requires additional time.

How do I pay for my treatment/ Claim from my health fund?
We accept HICAPS, eftpos and cash; and carry a mobile terminal with us that allows you to claim at the time of treatment. HOWEVER, some health funds do not allow for mobile claiming - If this is your fund we will provide a receipt for payment.
After we give you a receipt for your treatment, you can easily send it to your health insurance provider for a rebate directly to your bank account. Some insurance companies handle this through their website, while others have apps for your phone. If you have any questions or run into issues, feel free to ask us for help, or you can reach out to your health insurance provider directly. We're here to support you!

For those covered on Workcover or DVA we submit directly through online claiming following your appointment, at no out of pocket cost to you.
